Compress PowerPoint presentations

A PowerPoint file is mostly the images packed inside it. CompressEasy Desktop opens your PPTX, re-compresses those embedded images, and repackages the file — so your slides look the same but the file gets much smaller. It all happens locally on your computer.

Compress PPTX offline with the free CompressEasy Desktop app for macOS and Windows. Your slides stay private.

Available in the free desktop app

Videos over 200 MB and PowerPoint decks run fully offline with bundled FFmpeg. PDF compression stays local and requires Ghostscript.

How it works

  1. Download and open CompressEasy Desktop (free).
  2. Drag your .pptx file in — it compresses automatically.
  3. Save the smaller presentation; your original stays untouched.

Why decks get so big

Pasting full-resolution photos and screenshots quickly bloats a deck to tens of megabytes. Re-compressing those images is the fastest way to shrink it.

Layout stays intact

CompressEasy only swaps the embedded images for smaller versions and rezips the file, so text, layout, animations and structure are unchanged.

Great before sharing or uploading

A lighter deck emails cleanly, uploads to LMS and portals without errors, and opens faster for your audience.

Frequently asked questions

Will my slides still look the same?

Yes. Only embedded images are re-compressed (and optionally downscaled). Text, layout and animations are preserved.

Which formats are supported?

Modern Office formats like .pptx (and .ppsx / .potx). These are ZIP-based, which is what lets the app optimize images inside them.

Is my presentation uploaded?

No. The whole process runs locally, so confidential decks never leave your computer.
